Our kite school is located in one of the windiest and safest places for learn to kitesurf in this country, the famous Kappalady Lagoon. More concretely, it is the only kite school in Sri Lanka located on the beach between the lagoon and the ocean. Our courses are given in English, French or Sinhalese (the local language). Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced level we have the ideal package for you. Our IKO certified instructors emphasise the human side. It is important for them to take the time to discuss with you, to understand your expectations and reach your goals! Concerning wingfoil, we are the Asia's first training centre and we are proud to be IWO certified.
You will spend your nights in theKalpitya's number one beach hotel. Nestled between hundreds of palm trees, lush mangroves with the sound of the Indian Ocean, a welcoming atmosphere andcasual the hotel. This will make you feel at home. You will have the choice of several types of accommodation with a minimum of B&B (bed & breakfast). Our hotel is not just a few rooms in the middle of nature, it is also a restaurant managed by an exceptional chef offering local dishesWe offer a wide range of products, including our own fruit and vegetables and even organic vegan dishes. In addition, you will enjoy a infinity pool with view on the kitesurfing lagoonperfect for non-kiteboarders.
We mainly give kitesurf and wingfoil courses almost all year round, but for those who come with people who don't sail, you have the possibility to do other activities like SUP, scuba diving, kayaking, mountain biking, etc...

Where do we sleep? Accommodation
Our beach hotel is classified as the trendy beach hotel of Kalpitya. Lost in the middle of nature, you will enjoy unique holidaysIt is a great place to relax and spend some time. Its location is perfect as it is close to the kitesurfing spotThis avoids the need to drive back and forth.
Regarding the rooms, we have 4 types of accommodation. They have been built in a way that minimises the carbon footprint they can create.
Villa on the beach:
Our villas are located in a few steps from the ocean only. These are 50 m² villas with a 10m high ceiling. The bedroom is very comfortable with its king size bed. In addition, you will enjoy an open-air waterfall shower as well as a terrace with a large net to enjoy the sunsets.
Villa lagoon (rectangular or round):
Located in a private lagoonOur villas offer beautifully decorated living spaces with 7m high natural ceilings, coconut thatched roofs and a private outdoor lounge. The 55m2 interiors of the villas feature polished cement floors and organic cotton-covered furniture. The 15m2 outdoor waterfall shower is also part of our villas. They have their own private walkway to the lagoon shore and private jetty.
Palm house:
This is theperfect eco-friendly beach accommodation in Sri Lanka. Our homes are airy, open spaces that offer a complete experience of nature in style. A cosy living room welcomes you at the front. The lower floors are finished in polished cement with an outdoor shower that opens to the sky. The palm house's 4.5m raised upper deck is constructed from precious indigenous Mara wood, accommodating the king size bed and giving a stunning view of the Kappalady lagoon. The thatched accommodation is built with local and environmentally friendly materials.
The sustainable living is important to us, we preserve the indigenous Sri Lankan tradition and take great care of our environment. That's why we have adapted some changes to our daily life. For example, we use refillable glass water bottles instead of plastic water bottles to reduce single-use plastic.

Discovery kitesurfing course:
You will learn the basics with all the equipment provided! From theory to practice, you will learn about safety, how to handle the equipment, the basics of kite flying, body drags, navigation and eventually the waterstart... Once your sessions are validated, you will leave with the IKO kitesurfing licence:

Kiteboarding courses progression:
If you have a long layover or are stuck at a certain level, these courses will be perfect to get you going again!

Depending on your needs and wishes, courses can be given in private lesson and in semi-private with the number of hours of your choice. (8 hours and 12 hours kitesurfing packages are available). Kitesurfing is our speciality here in Sri Lanka, however we also give wingfoil course to help you progress or discover this new sport. You can also find other courses such as downwind, kitesafaris or simply equipment rental to be 100% stand-alone.

Best time to visit The perfect months
From May to October, the wind blows at an average of 20 knots every day. This makes it possible to sail both on the lagoon and in the ocean.
From mid-December to mid-March, it is thermal wind that wakes up in the afternoon, with an average of 15 to 25 knots. All this with very warm temperatures!
